Many will assume to fix clumpy, dried out mail polish you can simply add a little nail polish remover to straighten it out. Here’s why this will not work.
Although the lacquer appears to thin out temporarily when you apply the acetone-based solvent, polish removers are not suitable as thinning agents because their oil content causes the enamel to separate and discolor.
Nail polish tends to thicken when it’s stored in a warm room or in direct sunlight.
You may have tried to fix your polish by adding it to a bath of warm or hot water. Although this may temporarily improve the texture of your mail polish its not a long term solution. The heat from the water actually causes the polish to further thicken and become hard. See my video for the best solution to repair your polish and have it looking like new again.
