Step 22: For Men: Balance Your Hormones
Women are not the only one affected by hormonal imbalance. Men have hormones too, therefore they are also at risk of hormonal imbalance. Hormonal imbalance is partly caused by aging and partly by a detrimental lifestyle. Chemicals found in plastic food containers and even food itself disrupts the biological processes in the body. Lack of sleep is actually one of the effects. In men, testosterone plays a big role in the quality of sleep. The lower the testosterone levels, the poorer the quality of sleep becomes. Aging cannot be solely blamed on low testosterone. Even a 21-year old man today can have low optimum levels of testosterone level for his age. You can schedule a blood test with your doctor to determine the amount of free testosterone (biologically available) in your blood. With the results, you can assess what areas of your hormonal level you need to address.
Step 23: No TV in the Bedroom
Your television set is emitting a great amount of electromagnetic waves even though it is turned off. What’s worse, your TV is not the only culprit. Radio clocks, radio sets, computers, laptops and even telephone emit electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic waves are invisible to the naked eye, but their abilities should not be underestimated. X-ray also utilizes a stronger kind of electromagnetic wave. Do not take electromagnetic radiation lightly because they are able to penetrate solid substances. With that said, they can penetrate walls, cabinets and dividers. What’s worse, they can also penetrate your skull and flesh. Electromagnetic waves affect the pineal gland’s production of melatonin and also the production of male and female sex hormones. Exposure to electromagnetic radiation thus disrupts your hormonal balance and sleep. The good news is, electromagnetic radiation do not extend indefinitely. Usually, they are powerful within 3 to 5 feet, depending on the size of the device.
Step 24: Kua/gua Number
This approach is quite radical and even unbelievable in some cultures. In Feng Shui, there is a principle that pertains to a person’s lucky and unlucky directions. These directions correspond to the cardinal directions in the compass, namely north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west and northwest. Using a person’s date of birth reduced to a single digit, the four lucky (Wealth, Health, Relationship, Development) and four unlucky directions (Bad luck, Five Ghosts, Six Killings, Total Loss) can be determined. When going to sleep, it’s recommended that your head points to your health or wealth direction. There are many gua number calculators online if you don’t like to compute for it manually. Feng shui deals primarily with the energies in the surroundings and the ways people can control it for their benefit. This may or may not work for you, but there’s no loss in trying.
